Objective

The objective of this workshop is to introduce participants with knowledge of debugging and Malware Analysis. Various Malware Analysis along with examples will be demonstrated during the session in order to impart a practical and result oriented training to the participants. The entire session will focus only on Win32 Platform however most of the techniques to be discussed are applicable to Win64 platform as well.

Prerequisites

Should have :

  • Basic knowledge of C/C++ Programming
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
  • Familiarity with Virtual Machine Tools like VMware/VirtualBox
  • Familiarity with a Programmer’s Text Editor (You MUST NOT code in Notepad)
  • Familiarity with x86 Assembly Language
  • Familiarity with Win32 Debuggers

About the Resource Person

Dr. Manoj Gaur and Dr. Vijay Laxmi is working as professor in Dept. of Computer Engineering, MNIT, Jaipur. Their interest areas are Networks on Chip, Dynamic and Static Analysis of Malware on Desktop and Mobile Platforms, Simulation and Emulation of QoS/QoE aware Streaming Protocols and Network Attack models and countermeasures.
