ACAI 2011

International Conference on Advances in Computing and Artificial Intelligence ACAI 2011

ACM Student Chapter Chitkara organized an International Conference on Advances in Computing and Artificial Intelligence, ACAI 2011 on July 21-22, 2011. The conference received overwhelming response from international and national research scholars, and professionals. Over 300 papers covering the main themes of the conference were received electronically. The papers published in these proceedings and presented during the conference were selected after a thorough review process. The papers were selected on the basis of originality, clarity and relevance to the theme of the conference. The aim of conference was to provide a platform for faculty, researchers and designers from academia and industry to present their research ideas, share their experiences, and challenges in the field of Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. The Conference program included invited lectures by experts in the field. ACM Student Chapter was successful accomplishing the event.

IOHC On Linux

ACM student Chapter, Chitkara organized 3 days Industry Oriented Hands on Course (IOHC) on “Linux” by Redhat Certified Engineers Rohit Romley, Rohit Verma, and Anisoon, 3rd year students of CSE from 23rd-25th March, 2011.The IOHC on one side focused on providing basic knowledge of Fedora (installation and working with GNOME environment) to students and on the other side, it elaborated the basic networking configuration, shell commands, shell scripting, Bash Shell configuration, SSH, mounting of devices, creating archives, and a little bit about kernel compiling.

The practical exposure on Linux administration was provided by running various commands in the IOHC and interesting videos related to the topics. The IOHC was attended by 45 students.The students gave a positive feedback about the course which is definitely the result of hardwork done by team ACM.
